How to get to Dolphin QuestMajor airlines fly into Juan Santamaria Airport, just outside San Jose, the capitol of Costa Rica. Domestic flights may depart from Juan Santamaria Airport or Tobias Bolanos Airport in the suburb of Pavas. Be sure to check your tickets. Prior to your arrival in San Jose, you'll need to arrange for a domestic flight to Golfito. SANSA and TRAVEL AIR are the domestic airlines. SANSA can be booked in advance through some travel agencies, or at www.flysansa.com and directly through Lacsa airlines. Also Katy at Tierra Mar Services is happy to help you with these arrangements. Tel/Fax:(506)775-1614. Email: landsea@sol.racsa.co.cr The rates and schedules change often, but here is a guideline:
Busses run between San Jose and Golfito on a regular schedule. This is an inexpensive way to view the landscape and get a feel for the countryside. The trip takes about 8 hours, the bus stops periodically along the route to take on or let off passengers, and makes one major stop for food. The cost is approximately $5 US. Private Taxis are available for hire at a cost of approx. $150.-$200. US.
Information may be obtained from Dave at Dave's Coconut Cafe, located across the street from the boat dock.
